ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tracey Zoeller is the author of the young adult novel, The Pastor’s Daughter

Much like the heroine in her book, Tracey grew up on the south shore of Long Island and was raised in a born-again Christian household in which religious rules and regulations governed everyday life.  Along with her older sister, Jen, Tracey was taught that anyone who was not considered “saved” would not enter into heaven.

In April of 2000, Tracey’s mom passed away from cancer, making her reevaluate her life.  It was then that she finally began to question her beliefs and values, and subsequently acknowledged her attraction to women.

Realizing that religion is often used as a license for prejudice, Tracey was inspired to write a story to address the issue.  The Pastor’s Daughter is what followed.

Tracey currently lives with her girlfriend in the south suburbs of Chicago and works as a social worker in a nursing home.
